Today we want to introduce you to the wedding stylist Martha Tobyn, from Anemone. Based in London, but covering the whole of the UK, she specialises in creative, modern, wedding planning for style-conscious couples. Here she shares with us more about her business.
WG: Tell us about your journey into the wedding business?
WG: What type of couples do you work with?

WG: Sounds amazing! What do you love about weddings?
MT: That’s a tough question to answer. Can I say all of it? If I had to narrow it down though, I’d say it’s the pure joy of weddings. There aren’t many other jobs that give you the same job satisfaction that you get when you see a couple and their loved ones having the time of their lives! It’s essentially a huge life project that people pour their time, money and energy into, often over many months or even years. When all these plans come together, the release of positivity and happiness is infectious! I also love any personalised and meaningful details. The little touches that make a wedding unique. Oh, and I always cry and laugh during the speeches! I often miss the ceremony because I am putting the finishing touches on the reception. But the speeches get me every time! I’ve particularly enjoyed some excellent bride and maid of honour speeches recently.

WG: Tell our readers 5 interesting facts about you!
MT: I have Scottish, English, Dutch and Indonesian heritage. It’s quite an unusual mix. I really do feel lucky to be who I am as it all seems like such an unlikely set of circumstances that bought me into existence. I took ballroom and Latin dance classes from the age of 9 to 16. I watch Strictly Come Dancing EVERY year. And I LOVE watching dance (ballet, contemporary, ballroom) that is so good it moves me to tears. In my twenties, I travelled through 8 countries in Central and South America over 3 months. It was the trip of a lifetime! Colombia is one of my favourite places in the world. I first kissed my now-husband Ally at a young farmers disco in rural Herefordshire when I was 14. But we weren’t that interested in each other and I ended up dating his friend. Nearly 11 years later we shared our second kiss and we married 8 years after that! I love cooking! Particularly fresh Mediterranean style dishes. I’ve never eaten meat in my life and always relish the challenge of cooking delicious vegetarian or pescatarian dishes for my meat-eating friends.
